The Power of LED Strip Lighting

Explore purpose-designed LED strip lighting solutions for creative, residential, indoor and outdoor use.

LED strip light technology has revolutionised the lighting world. No longer limited to purely creative applications, LED strips can now be used as a primary light source.

Our standard 5m COB480 LED strip, for example, delivers a light output equivalent to 1.5 downlights per meter, with 580 LEDs per meter. Thanks to this high LED density, individual light dots are no longer visible, resulting in a perfectly continuous and uniform illumination.

The even light output create a completely new lighting experience, eliminating shadows and enhancing visual comfort. Visit our pages to see images that clearly demonstrate the outstanding performance and superior light quality of this product.

For better understanding, here are some LED Strip light basics

1. LED Density (LEDs per meter):

  • Standard: start at 60 LEDs/m

  • Top end COB technology: up to 480 LEDs/m

  • Brightness relation: More LEDs per meter means each LED needs less brightness to achieve the same total output = non-intrusive

  • Effect on light appearance:

    • Lower density of LEDs --> noticeable glary individual dots.

    • Higher density of LEDs --> smooth, continuous light line.

2. Brightness:

  • Cheaper strips: low output --> suitable for simple effect lighting.

  • Modern high output strips: suitable for illuminations/light source 1500 lumens/m is equivilent to about 1.5 downlights/m

  • Dimmer compatibility: they can be dimmed

3. Colour (RGB strips)

  • Each LED has three sub-dots: Red, Green, Blue.

  • The physical principle is called Additive colour mixing:

    • Red + Green = Yellow

    • Green + Blue = Turquoise

    • Red + Blue = Magenta

    • All colours possible by adjusting intensity.

  • A 65-inch 4K TV has 8.3 million pixels. It works on this principle.

By choice, our standard LED strip has 480 LEDs/m with 1560 lumens light output/m. It is suitable for general illumination, not just accent lighting.
